Jun 10, 2009 · Target Depth Sounder and log problem I purchased a 27′ sailing yacht, built in 1980 which had a NASA Target sounder fitted which has not worked from day one. It has an in-hull transducer. Basically the display either displays randomly changing numbers, the letter E or goes completely blank.

I have used nasa kit for many years and its good , you get what you pay for ,and that aint much ! only inst Iwould not recommend is the masthead wind transducer ,. they break very easily . the cups snap off – but theyre cheap to replace . when this one packs up i,ll get a wireless tak- tik unit, now they have dropped in price .

Apr 16, 2007 · Hi I have a NASA clipper wind unit that at one time worked fine but now gives incorrect direction info. When wind is dead ahead, the display shows dead ahead but as the wind direction moves round in a clockwise direction the pointer actually moves anticlockwise. If the wind direction changes anticlockwise the display shows a clockwise shift.??
